CHRISTMAS MORNING 2008

What a wonderful Christmas we had this year- Each of us had something that we had to over come this Christmas Season. Tyeann had the hardest time falling asleep Christmas Eve. She headed to bed at 8pm but lights out didn't happen until 11pm- Jesse was lacking sleep with the child up so late and not realizing that a gift still needed to be put together- Jon Cole had his first year of truly understanding that Santa was going to visit our home so he wanted his door open all night- and for Sondra it was only her 3rd Christmas in her whole life without having one or both her parents with her over the Holiday Season.
Jon Cole got his big tool bench from Santa.
Tyeann got her DS from Santa and we haven't seen her since!
Oh this was great! this was the first year that I really saw our dogs get into their xmas gifts-they made more of a mess than our human kids.
Tyeann took this photo and we just love it- alittle blurry but oh so happy.

A New Christmas Tradition

These Kids belong in the Woods
Time to cut down the tree

This was a New Texas Christmas Tradition for the Johnson Family...Cutting down our Tree. Jesse & I had to over come the lack of snow, mountains & type of Tree....see we are from the Great NW(Washington State) & in the past Jesse & I would take our snowmobiles up into the mountain snow & cut down our PINE Christmas tree. On this day it was 65 degrees & the tree the kids picked out was a Texas breed Christmas tree-I couldn't tell you the type?

The Johnson's 2008 Christmas Tree

It took 3.5years

It only took 3.5years for big sister to do this to her little brother.
huh he looks like he enjoyed it?
OK...he is still our boy- tackle those girls!

Thanksgiving-Family

We give Thanks that Grandpa spent Thanksgiving with us!
We give Thanks for a very healthy and Loved Family
We give Thanks for a 120% Boy
We give Thanks for a 220% Girl

Future Bull Rider

Over the Fence in zero flat
Under the barb wire...piece of cake

In order to say hello to the Cows in our back yard.
Jon Cole asked Grandpa "Can you teach me how to ride Bulls?" We'll have to have Uncle Todd to do that one but hey....I think we have a future Bull rider in the family.

FAMILY SKATING

Grandpa came out for a visit and wanted to go Roller skating!
Tyeann raced Grandpa round the rink a few times. A 7 year old against a 67 year old.

Looky here....a boy and his father- probably won't see these legs in skates for another 20 years!

Tyeann is taking after her mother- not only in the roller skating aspect but in the picture taking!

Once His.....NOW Hers!

We bought this Dodge for Jesse on his birthday last year. With the high gas and the realization that with three gas drinking trucks(4x4 suburban, f250 Ford, 08 dodge) it just didn't make sense. Jesse was also missing his Ford....two months later while Jesse and Tyeann are in WA(I sell things when Jes is in WA) My big Green suburban sold. There are days I miss my monster- the Dodge lacks the adjustable peddles-did I mention it is a stick shift and I'm 5'1. needless to say I can't talk on the phone and drive now. Love the turbo and the rear window electric open and close. Can't go through the bank drive through anymore but hey that's less candy for the boy. Over all I love the Dodge and it's becoming my big red monster and hey if they ever make drivers of these big trucks have a CDL I'm set.

RODEO FUN

We love Fall in Texas! Where else could you ride some rides in a tank top while it is raining?
Don't worry it didn't rain too long-just enough to keep the crowds away and give us the chance to go into the stock yard to see some true Texas animals.

The joy that a ride that goes in a circle can bring to a child's face!

Tyeann had a blast this year with the rides. She was just tall enough to ride all but three and oh yeah she did!

BASEBALL

This maybe the only time she wears a baseball uniform but a life long memory!

The Texas slogan is "Everything is Bigger in Texas" and we found that out within the first few days after we moved here. For example, we turned the TV on to watch the National Baseball playoffs and what did we see instead...Local high school baseball and softball players signing letters of intent to play ball for Universitys.
We signed Tyeann up for Softball last season and after the season was over she states
"Softball is my sport" being in Midway ISD Baseball and Softball is VERY competitive!
so when I received an email telling me that Fall ball registration was going on I jumped to it and signed Tyeann up....

Here's my point.....
Ball is huge but only two girls signed up for Fall ball???????? A few days later I received an email stating that Tyeann could play on the boys team.....hummmm
Now Jes and I are not parents that due things for attention but we thought since it was 6/7 years old team maybe it would be good for Tyeann and make her a stronger player.

First day of practice she got comments about girls don't play Baseball but it didn't faze her. It took her 4 pitches (remember its a smaller ball and over head throws) to figure everything out and boy the rest was history...she can hit!!!! And she may inherit my nickname 'Speedy"
Her fielding has improved and the best comment that I have heard was from the very first game when she was playing first base, got a grounder ball and got the out...the little boy went into the dugout stating: " I just got out and it was by a girl?"

AUNT RAMONA

CABO SAN LUCAS, MEXICO
MOM, ME & AUNT RAMONA
It's a time in our lives that we never want to experience but it is part of Life.
And what a life my Aunt Ramona had....and will never be forgotten.
Aunt Ramona made a trip out to our time share in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico with us and my parents...it was a wonderful week.

I know in my heart that my mother was waiting for Ramona at the gates of Heaven with open arms.
We all love you Ramona!!!
